These past 3 months were all I have ever asked for, and the best part is that there are still 5 more months to go. We traveled from mountains to oceans and from cities to islands. We learned useful life skills that were taught to us but we also learned other things that were not in the program. As I sit in the gate of the airport of Panama City waiting for my connecting flight back home, I think back to all the good times we had as a group and all the times I felt I was growing as a person. One of the reasons I wanted to take a gap year was to discover new things about myself, and I certainly feel that I’m doing that during this program. I have found more independence, more comfort with being by myself, and I have found a passion of mine that I always knew I liked but just discovered that I really love it: traveling. I’ve always known I like to travel but the longest I’ve been away from home is maybe a month. This past semester I traveled for 3 consecutive months and I loved every single day of it. I’m going home today, but I could honestly continue traveling much longer. I can’t wait what the next semester will bring and most importantly, I can’t wait to reunite with the Winterline fam.
